.....The United States Green Building Council recently developed the LEED program (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) intended to provide tax incentives for buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable, and a healthy place to live or work. Window film can assist in providing up to 6 LEED certification points in areas such as Light Pollution Reduction (1 pt.), Optimizing Energy Performance (1-2 pts.), Improving Thermal Comfort (1 pt.), and Providing Daylight and Views (1-2 pts.). This applies to new construction (LEED-NC) and existing buildings (LEED-EB). Your GPS representative will provide a thorough, on-site analysis of your structures potential for energy efficient improvements in any of these areas. |
.....The Federal Governments Tax Credit for existing buildings was recently extended thru 2013. This is an excellent way to improve the energy efficiency of a building. The program basically states that a building that improves its SEER (Solar Energy Efficiency Rating) by 16% or more is entitled to a tax credit which nearly pays for the investment. What’s more, what isn’t paid for is usually paid back within 2 years through the energy savings. Contact GPS for more details. |
