.....The United States Green Building Council recently developed the LEED program (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) intended to provide tax incentives for buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable, and a healthy place to live or work. Window film can assist in providing up to 6 LEED certification points in areas such as Light Pollution Reduction (1 pt.), Optimizing Energy Performance (1-2 pts.), Improving Thermal Comfort (1 pt.), and Providing Daylight and Views (1-2 pts.). This applies to new construction (LEED-NC) and existing buildings (LEED-EB). Your GPS representative will provide a thorough, on-site analysis of your structures potential for energy efficient improvements in any of these areas.

.....The Federal Governments Tax Credit for existing buildings was recently extended thru 2013. This is an excellent way to improve the energy efficiency of a building. The program basically states that a building that improves its SEER (Solar Energy Efficiency Rating) by 16% or more is entitled to a tax credit which nearly pays for the investment. What’s more, what isn’t paid for is usually paid back within 2 years through the energy savings. Contact GPS for more details.
