Why don’t you carry the product from 3M?
....In the statement found on this site’s main page, we mention Vista window film’s reputation for infallibility. It for this very same reason that we refuse to install 3M products. Multiple window film failures within a short time span have left their reputation tarnished, from our perspective. Most famously would have to be the Rosen Centre Hotel on International Dr. in Orlando, in which thousands of square feet of film had to be replaced shortly after install. How many windows do I need to film?
....Window film is designed specifically to address the heat transfer problem, which is the main proponent of wasteful energy costs. One of the more popular mistakes our clients make is installing window film only to the windows that receive direct sunlight, and dismissing the windows that receive little to no sunlight. Heat on the other hand, affects all windows. When your home or structure is being built, your builder installs insulation in the walls to prevent heat gain from entering the domain. For the windows or “openings” in the walls, window film acts as insulation. “Underfilming”, for example, can result in compensating the return of investment (ROI) and loss of rebates from power providers. For customers who express an interest in addressing a sunlight issue with a window or windows, we recommend solar shades as the more sensible investment. Rule of thumb: shades are for the sun, window film is for the heat.

How “lifetime” is a lifetime warranty?
....Generally, you should inspect the warranty of a window film thoroughly. While most manufactures offer “lifetime warranties”, most cover few, but not all aspects of film failure. Or, the coverage of said warranty depletes over time (limited lifetime warranty). We have seen numerous clients attempt to file a warranty claim with other companies only to be told that “color change isn’t covered” or “the bubbling coverage expired after 2 years”. At GPS, your manufacturer’s warranty covers all types of film failures, unconditionally, and is transferrable (it adheres to the home regardless of its occupant). For Commercial applications, our 15 year warranty outperforms the 10 year industry standard warranty.

My window manufacturer tells me that my warranty will be voided if I have them filmed. Is this true?
....Most window manufacturers would prefer you spend $15,000 to $20,000 on their energy efficient windows instead of a fraction of that cost on our films, so this language is typically in place to be merely a deterrent. Our optional “Vista Gold” warranty package will honor any and all window manufacturers’ warranties, word for word, should they be voided for installing window film. Ask your GPS representative for details. If dual pane or energy efficient windows are already in place, window film will serve to reinforce the energy savings they provide.

How do I clean the film after install?
....Recent improvements to window film have made them able to withstand just about any household cleaner. However, GPS recommends non-ammonia based cleaners. Windex with vinegar is an excellent window film cleaner.
